Julie Beckham (Founder/Teacher) spent 10 years acting and teaching in New York City. She has taught drama at the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan and improvisational workshops for Arts Genesis and Camp Broadway. She has also worked with more than 3,000 children in more than 25 cities through BRAVO Television's "Bravo On With the Show," a national campaign to promote arts education in local communities. Julie is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts where she received the CAP 21 Award for the Greatest Achievement in Musical Theatre. She is a member of Actor's Equity and has performed in workshops of new plays at The York Theatre, The Connelly Theatre, The Goodspeed Opera House and the CAP 21 Theatre in New York and has performed a number of times at The Forestburgh Playhouse in the Catskills. Julie produced and starred in Cy Coleman's I Love My Wife at the Off-Broadway CAP 21 Theatre and is a co-founder and artistic director of Fourth Interval Productions, a not-for-profit theatre company in New York. Julie founded the Greater Boston Drama Studio in 2004, is a member of the Canton Cultural Council and lives in Canton with her husband Scott, son Adam and daughter Charlotte.


 

 


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Guest Artists for the Spring Session 2007

 

Jose Meer Perez (Vocal Performance) graduated with highest honors from Dartmouth College with a BA in Music (Theory and Composition) and Political Science. Recipient of the national Semper Fidelis Award for Musical Excellence, he completed his graduate studies in vocal performance and composition at the New England Conservatory and the Longy School. Internationally and regionally, Jose is an active performer and vocal soloist in opera, music theater, and oratorio. He is also an active music director, having more than 15 shows to his credit.

 

 

 

Danielle Gerardo (Stage Makeup) Danielle's varied career in theatre has ranged from performance and choreography to teaching and make-up artistry. Since earning her B.F.A. in musical theatre performance from the University of Hartford's Hartt School of Music, Danielle has toured regionally and nationally as a performer. As a make-up artist, Danielle has designed and executed make-up for productions of Bent, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Twelfth Night, Into the Woods, Little Shop of Horrors, Godspell and Nine as well as for headshot and wedding photo sessions.
Heidi Flanagan (Creative Movement) started teaching in Philadelphia where she attended the University of the Arts. Since then she has been a judge for the Star Systems dance competition and teaches at their summer workshop. She also teaches for Camp Broadway in NYC and Connecticut High School for Performing Arts. In addition to teaching, Heidi has performed in many musical theater productions across the country. Heidi encourages positive thinking and positive reinforcement in every class.

 

 

 

 

Jed Doherty (Magician) also known as Jedlie, has been a full time, professional magician for the past 24 years. He performs primarily in schools, theaters and fairs throughout the East Coast & Puerto Rico. In his shows, Jedlie's performances are fast paced and feature a wild mix of dance, comedy, magic and illusions. In his workshops at GBDS, Jedlie will introduce students to basic magic techniques, which will enable them to begin to develop their own magic show, including the secret to levitation.
